Memo to More Than 1000 Teachers Involved in Paper Correction


Coimbatore: More than 1000 teachers have been asked to give explanation after difference in marks were found during re-totalling procedure. Out of 20 lakh students who appeared for public exams in 2017-2018 over 20000 students had applied for re-totalling in June.


An official from the department said that explanation has been sought from the teachers who corrected the papers before re-totalling. Difference in marks were noticed in most of the papers after the re-totalling process was carried out by 100 teachers.


Memo has been issued to all the teachers through their school headmasters. If the teachers do not provide satisfactory reason action would be taken against them. Teachers who corrected class XII have submitted their explanations as as the results were announced in June, other teachers were directed to submit at the earliest.


Retotelling results of Class X and XII have already been published, however the results of Class XI is yest to be published. More than 3,000 teachers were involved in paper correcting process per district and they were from government, government-aided and private schools, said VM Michaelraj from Tamil Nadu Postgraduate Teachers Association.
