No Special Class During Summer Holidays, says TN Government

The Director of Matriculation Schools has announced that private schools across the State should not conduct any special or coaching classes for students during the annual holidays.

Mr. Rameshwara Murugan in a latest press release on April 10, said that an advisory is issued to all private schools, instructing them not to conduct special classes for students during summer holidays. The government will take necessary action if such classes are held, he added. “The academic calendar for CBSE schools is different. But we have advised them not to conduct classes during summer vacation,” he added.

“The students should be compulsorily given holidays and not exposed to the harsh weather conditions. Their health might get affected as a result of this and schools should not have any summer academic classes,”
Director of Matriculation Schools (DMS) S. Kanappan said in a circular.

Stating that officials at the district level should ensure that schools are informed of this, the DMS has said that strict action will be taken against schools violating this if parents submit complaints that classes are being held during the holidays.
