The Central Board of Secondary Education has notified the Supreme Court that it would announce class 10 and 12 exam results by mid July. The Board had scheduled the remaining exams for its students from July 1st however, this verdict was challenged at the apex court with respect to the incessant rise in Covid – 19 cases.

After the cancellation of the remaining papers, the Board has now proclaimed that it has been working on an alternative assessment scheme which was presented at the apex court on June 26th and has also been approved by the court.

The alternative assessment covers all possible circumstances for students who sat for all their examinations in class 10 and 12. For students who wrote more than three subjects, the average of the marks obtained in the best of three performing subjects will be awarded. For students who could appear for an exam in only three subjects, the average of marks obtained in two best performing subjects will be awarded.

The Board will also conduct compartment exams, which will be announced later. Students will be given the option to either appear or skip these papers. Marks scored in these papers will be treated as final.

CBSE Board exam result will be available on the board’s official result portal, ‘cbseresults.nic.in‘. Apart from distributing board exam certificates via schools, the board will also release students’ pass certificates and mark sheet through DigiLocker, a flagship initiative of Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY) under Digital India
